Sermon – Kevin Tracey, Seminarian
We will celebrate the feast of Saint Luke the Evangelist, patron of this parish, on Sunday, October 23. He was a Greek physician, a disciple of Saint Paul, and author of the Acts of the Apostles and of the third gospel. His writings emphasize Christ’s compassion. Luke became the patron of artists, doctors and surgeons, and his symbol is an ox.
We will observe the feast of Saint Francis of Assisi and the ceremony of the Blessing of the Animals at the 11 a.m. service on Sunday, October 2.
We begin the liturgy outside on the the porch and front steps with all the neighborhood pets in attendance, and make our way into the church for Eucharist after the blessings.
The Rev. Rodger C. Broadley, Rector.
