On Monday, April 4, volunteers will meet at Saint Luke’s to cook food intended for distribution at Saint Gabriel’s Episcopal Church in Olney. We begin at 6 p.m. and continue until the work is done. The meals will be served at Saint Gabriel’s on Saturday, April 9, at 10 a.m.
Jonathan M. Bowen’s Atlantic City organ concert, scheduled for April 6 in Boardwalk Hall, has been cancelled. When the event is rescheduled, we’ll post the new date and time here.
Make sure to take a look at the beautiful new chandeliers in the narthex. They were given to the glory of God in loving memory of Mary Bodnar Dobosh and Mary Chacho, the women who raised George Dobosh.
Please thank all those who made our Lenten and Easter celebrations possible: Jonathan Bowen, organist-choirmaster; Linda Boyce, the parish administrator; Victor Psoras and Mike Doyle, sextons; the parish choir; Saint Luke’s Brass; the altar guild; Joey Klinger and Daniel Smith, seminarians; and George Dobosh, who cleaned and polished and organized for the liturgies.
The church office will be closed on Monday, March 28.
Margaret “Cookie” Cook will miss the Easter service here for the first time in 90 years. Our oldest member and leader of the Altar Guild for some fifty or more years, Cookie’s declining health required her to move last week into her niece’s house in Oxford, Pennsylvania. She will be 91 on March 31. Timothy Davidson has produced a birthday card and invites everyone to sign it at the reception on Easter Day.
