Where Is Our Place? — a forty minute documentary film by the Rev. Chris Bishop, rector of Saint Martin’s Church, Radnor, will be screened here, at the Church of Saint Luke & The Epiphany on Thursday evening, May 12, at 7 p.m. Chris has made several trips to the Middle East to examine the existential threat to the historic Christian communities in the region. He will be with us to answer questions and to facilitate a brief discussion.
For more information see the Stand with Iraqi Christians website.
On Sunday, May 1, and Sunday, May 8, the seminarians will host a discussion at 10 a.m. in the Blue Room Lounge about how the Church of Saint Luke & The Epiphany might better engage the surrounding community. One of the core ideas coming out of the Future Church conversations during Lent was that churches tend to grow as they connect with their neighbors. (The Bible Study group will not meet on May 1 or 8.)
For the first meeting wear a pair of walking shoes. We’ll be going on a brief field trip. Plan to join us.
On Sunday, April 24 we welcome Angela Gilbert as our guest soprano. Ms. Gilbert, originally from Cape Town, has sung all over Europe, South Africa, and the United States. She has also performed with the Metropolitan Opera.
We also welcome back Jessica Williams as guest violinist. Jessica sang in the parish choir for many years.
