On the first Friday of every month, please join us for Prayer around the Cross. The hour of silence, prayer and meditation begins at 7 p.m.
The next service will take place in Furness Chapel on Friday, February 5.
Follow the link to read a pastoral letter from the Rt. Rev. Clifton Daniel, the Bishop of Pennsylvania, to the people of the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania.
Bishop Daniel writes in response to the recent vote of the primates of the churches that make up the Anglican Communion to exclude representatives of The Episcopal Church from Communion meetings for three years. The primates’ decision is in response to our church’s support for marriage equality.
On January 26 the Bishop Search Committee will present its slate of nominees to the Standing Committee of the diocese for confirmation. This action concludes a year of hard work by the Bishop Search Committee, which was co-chaired by our rector, the Rev. Rodger C. Broadley. A second committee will then coordinate the election, consecration and transition for the new Bishop of Pennsylvania.
The candidates will be announced publicly on January 28, and their names will be posted on the diocesan website at noon on that day.
All Center City parishioners are welcome to attend a conversation about the nominees to be held on February 3 at Saint Clement’s Church, at 20th and Cherry streets. The meeting starts with dinner at 6 p.m. followed by the program at 6:30 p.m.; there is no charge and no RSVP is required.
There will be opportunities to meet with the nominees themselves during the week of February 14, and the election will be held at a special convention on March 12. For more details, see the diocesan website.
